Pursuant to the provisions of the Lacey Act, Customs will begin to enforce the declaration requirement for merchandise in HTS chapter 44 May 1, 2009. Although this date reflects a delayed beginning of enforcement, electronic submission of information is now being accepted. Please review the Lacey Act information if this might pertain to your imports, and contact us if you require additional assistance.

In November of 2008, Customs issued an interim final rule pertaining to the filing of an importer security declaration, known as an Importer Security Filing (ISF.) This procedure is also known as 10+2. For additional information click here.
