Court Dismisses Importer Suit Against Examination Damages

An importer’s lawsuit against a Customs approved examination station for damaging their merchandise in the course of an examination was dismissed on August 31st.

The court found that without having documented the condition of the container at point of origin, there was no proof that the goods were delivered to the container examination station intact.
